• ICFSEB Textbook List (PDF)  - The 2023 textbook reference list is used by The Conference in preparation of NBE (and SBE) test items. The textbook reference list is also available from The Conference office and is published in the NBE Study Guide.
   
• ABFSE Textbook Survey (PDF)

The 2024 survey provides data on textbooks used by the accredited programs.

Included in the survey summary:

• Textbook titles by subject area
• Number of schools using the textbook and
• Number of graduates potentially exposed to the text because it was a required text or due to instructor use.
   

The survey had a 100% response rate. All 58 accredited programs participated in the survey.

Content of ABFSE curriculum outlines was drawn from the list of References included in each outline.
 
ABFSE does not require or recommend the use of any particular textbook. Each accredited program selects the textbooks best suited for use in their instructional programs.

Some texts may utilize terminology that is not representative of the diversity, equity and inclusion expectations of ABFSE. Instructors utilizing the textbooks should address the issue.
