-June 2021 - Program on Administrative Probation during search for new program director. (Standard 1.8) A new cohort of students will not be admitted to the program until new funeral service staff is in place.
-August 2021 - Status changed to 'Show Cause' why accreditation should not be removed by February 15, 2022 due to inadequate staffing.
-April 2022 - Program is returned to good standing with hiring of new Program Director.

-April 2018 - Approved distance education for delivery of the accredited AAS degree program with Focus Visit. Focus Visit review by COA in October 2020.
-April 2020 - Program placed on probation for failure to meet Standard 10.4 - three-year average NBE pass rate less than 60%.
Administrative Probationary Accreditation for failure to submit a timely and accurate Annual Report. -October 2020 - Probationary Accreditation status removed.
-Focus Visit follow-up requires a completed assessment plan due February 2021.
-April 2021 - COA acknowledges receipt of the distance education assessment plan. Next assessment plan update, due February 15, 2022, must demonstrate how the assessment data is used for program improvement.
-April 2022 - Assessment plan accepted.
-October 2023 - The institution and accredited programs are on Probation status for one year during which issues regarding accreditation standards 1,3,5,6,9,10 are to be addressed.
Standard 1 - Provide evidence of a current and viable Advisory Board. Standard 3 - Published materials must accurately reflect the states where the AAS and BSFS degrees meet licensure
requirements. -Demonstrate compliant transcript language for non-accredited programs.
- Provide evidence that students are aware that courses may change from on-ground to distance delivery.
Standard 5 - Update syllabi to accurately portray the college catalog and ABFSE B-6 curriculum distribution.
- Provide inspection documentation for off-campus instructional sites.
- Provide evidence of embalming competency certification by qualified faculty members and completion of funeral
directing tasks.

Provide evidence of assessment data and analysis demonstrating equivalent academic rigor for online and face-to-face courses.
- Submit an organized curriculum plan for the Bachelor degree offerings.
Standard 6 - Provide evidence of student-teacher ratios compliant with the standard. Standard 9 - Demonstrate that pertinent students policies are provided before starting coursework.
Standard 10 - Demonstrate that data collection and analysis is used for continuous program improvement.
-April 2024 - Probation response (part one) was reviewed. A portion of the response was accepted. The remainder must be
addressed by September 1, 2024, when the next review of Probation status is scheduled.
-June 2024 - COA approved a change in the institutional mission statement and a curriculum change that establishes a
uniform curriculum plan for all Pierce schools. COA is to receive copies of the communication explaining the changes that were shared with students.
